Yeshua taught the people to love God and to love one another to enter the kingdom of heaven. A person should have TRUTH (follow laws) and LOVE (mercy) to be saved. Paul, on the other hand, says you are saved by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection. That we are saved by God's grace alone, and not by deeds.
This afternoon, I felt called to read the Bible and / or my notes on the Scriptures, and so I did :) I started reading my notes, going to the very first one dated August 8, 2015. There, I wrote about how I marveled over Christianity, and discussed Jesus / Yeshua's teachings versus Pauline Christianity / Paul's gospel (which is what is preached today). If you are unfamiliar of how DIFFERENT these two teachings are, here's a brief summary:
Anyway, as I was browsing his other posts that I missed reading, I found "I'm a Christian and I don't get to Choose to Follow Jesus." The title simply meant that Christians are to follow the narrow path that Jesus instructed us to walk on~ no picking of Bible verses or laws to follow to fit your sinful lifestyle. In this post, this paragraph hit me to the core (italics are my thoughts):
