I actually have a personal Instagram where I post my #ProjectLife photos and layouts since 2012 (I think). But ever since that fateful month of July, I have been remiss in updating it as my creative juices just dried up. All my energy since July was redirected to the sole purpose of surviving the dark months after the #worstbirthdayweekever. That's why it came a surprise to me when I had the creative spark to start this faith blog of mine~ and a matching faith Instagram account to boot! Yes, the Lord plucked me from the darkest pits, and gave me the strength and inspiration for these wonderful projects to bloom. Out of my ugly and painful TRIals, the Lord fashioned a lovely blog of TRIumph chronicling His faithfulness in my life, and all I can say is:
(from my journal, 8/23/15) Today's devotion via DEVOS app (available for iOS and Android) was quite eye-opening. The passage reads: You will desire to control your husband but he will rule over you. The corresponding explanation said that Eve's punishment for eating the apple in the Garden of Eden was this (husband rule over wife). Instead of harmony between man and woman, we'll now have the battle of the sexes -- "the man who was to lovingly care for and nurture his wife would now seek to rule her, and the wife would desire to wrest control from her husband." TO BE CLEAR, Genesis 3:16 IS NOT A BIBLICAL COMMAND FOR MEN TO DOMINATE WOMEN! (Or vice versa for that matter.) Rather, what was written in the verse was a prophecy of the effect of the original sin on the two sexes :( So what then is the ideal relationship of man and woman in marriage? Here's the answer from Ephesians 5:
This afternoon, I felt called to read the Bible and / or my notes on the Scriptures, and so I did :) I started reading my notes, going to the very first one dated August 8, 2015. There, I wrote about how I marveled over Christianity, and discussed Jesus / Yeshua's teachings versus Pauline Christianity / Paul's gospel (which is what is preached today). If you are unfamiliar of how DIFFERENT these two teachings are, here's a brief summary: Yeshua taught the people to love God and to love one another to enter the kingdom of heaven. A person should have TRUTH (follow laws) and LOVE (mercy) to be saved. Paul, on the other hand, says you are saved by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection. That we are saved by God's grace alone, and not by deeds. |
