Before I start my testimony, here's a brief background of my life. I'm an only daughter and because of that, my parents were very strict and protective of me. I'm a straight-A student with no serious behavioral problems so I never really understood why they were so strict with me. Don't they trust me to choose and do the right things? Cinema movies? I watch it with my parents. Weekends are also spent with my family. If I want to spend time with my friends, they should go to our house. Me going to hangout in another place is a big no-no. I never even crossed a street on my own until I was in high school which made me verrry careful in crossing (I wait until both roads are clear of vehicles until now) once I was allowed to. There were also (lots of) other rules that really stifled me, but since I was still being supported by my parents, I followed their rules.
I've been on Pinterest for almost 5 years now (I think, hehe) and I mostly use the site to plan my daughters' birthday parties or getting home improvement ideas. Today, I found a much better use for it: pinning faith verses and photos that inspire me to be more Christ-like :) I've just started so there isn't much to see, but if you're interested on what I have pinned so far, you can check it here: FAITH Pinterest Board. A bit of warning though: Pinterest is highly addicting! Haha! I admit that I spent numerous sleepless nights looking at picture-perfect pins that I never got around to emulate :p
(from my journal, 10/1/15) This post is actually a continuation of the preceding post here. In that post, hubby and I were discussing that true Christian faith should have both love (being forgiving) and truth (hates sin & follows God's laws), and these constitute the narrow path that Jesus required the saved to walk on. I then realized that if this is case, the only people who are truly saved at any given time are the CHILDREN or those who are child-like. Why? Because kids:
Assuredly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it. (Mark 10:15) Thank you so much Lord for giving this insight to me and Labsie. We shall strive to be child-like everyday. And we promise to nurture our daughters and keep them child-like until they grow up. So help us Lord. Amen.

Anyway, as I was browsing his other posts that I missed reading, I found "I'm a Christian and I don't get to Choose to Follow Jesus." The title simply meant that Christians are to follow the narrow path that Jesus instructed us to walk on~ no picking of Bible verses or laws to follow to fit your sinful lifestyle. In this post, this paragraph hit me to the core (italics are my thoughts): |
